As a live wedding painter based in the spectacular NH countryside, I use color, style, and emotion to intuitively capture one magical moment during your wedding and paint the essence of your special day. As a professionally trained fine artist specializing in impressionism, I’ve had the privilege of painting beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime moments since 2016.
You'll take home a wedding day painting that looks like your day felt, to be hung on the wall proudly (not just carefully packed away in a box) to remind you of the precious memories created on that special day. As an archival quality piece of fine art, this elegant expression of your love can be passed down for generations as a cherished family heirloom.
Books are currently open for 2024. I do encourage you to inquire as early as possible in order to reserve a painting - there’s only one of me, and when I’m booked, I’m booked!

About Lake Studios Live Event Painting
Internationally collected, the artist behind Lake Studios (also known as the New England Wedding Painter) is Carol Lake, a professional multidisciplinary artist specializing in impressionism.
Carol’s work will add an unusual and elegant touch to your celebration. Surprise and amaze your guests as they watch a work of art appear in front of their eyes - guests of all ages are encouraged to add their own brushstrokes to the painting, creating priceless memories for all. Before cameras, artists were hired to create lasting memories of special events. Carol follows that time-honored tradition by painting a unique, gorgeous impression of your wedding or special event.
Unlike a camera, an artist can capture, enhance, or even entirely remove or add objects, sunny skies, rainbows, pets, and even loved ones who have passed on or otherwise could not attend your wedding. As a contemporary impressionist, Carol’s work is not photographic but rather exhibits the emotions, colors, and spirit of an event.

Live event painting is a specialty service where a fine artist paints the scene around them as the scene is happening. It requires a painter who is not only technically skilled but also experienced, confident, extremely fast, and very comfortable dealing with the pressure of creating a true work of art in front of a live, engaged audience. Not only do you have an heirloom to take home, but your guests have enjoyed (and perhaps even participated in) the painting’s creation.
Carol has worked at wedding venues in Italy, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, and Rhode Island, and is happy to travel for destination weddings anywhere in the world.

The investment for live wedding paintings varies based on many factors, including wedding location, canvas size, level of detail, and wedding date. In general, investment in my live paintings begins at $3,500. Wedding portraits from photographs begin at $1000.
